Independent curator, writer and cultural activist. Her main areas of interest are performance art, the representation of women’s body and sexuality through an intersectional approach, and liminal specialities. Born and raised in Mexico City, her scholar and creative work is influenced by her own border experience since she lived in the San Diego/Tijuana region for more than 5 years. She has published several academic articles, both in English and Spanish, has offered lectures on art, identity and feminism across different American countries , and has curated over 10 exhibitions both in Mexico and the US.
Entrepreneur and with a Degree in Business Administration at CETYS University of Tijuana. His passion for collecting art, led him to found in 2005 La Caja Galería. Thirteen years after its beginning, the gallery is transformed into a cultural project which has been redefined as The Art and Culture Box, where it promotes exhibitions, sells artworks, advises on acquisitions of art, conducts appraisals, organizes auctions, special projects, provides specialized information, workshops and courses.
Founder of La Gestoría and Periferica. Paulina has extensive experience in Cultural Management, administration and teaching. Has a Degree in Plastic Arts from the Autonomous University of Baja California and is a candidate for a Master in Cultural Management from the University of Buenos Aires.
Manager and Founder of several Civil Associations and cultural organizations including: Pendulo Cero Danza Contemporánea, Promotora de Cultura of Baja California, Promotora de las Artes de Baja California, Casa Cultural Quetzal.
In exhibition management, she has been an assistance for ACME VI edition, Estado Invitado, Material Art Fair, Museum of Modern Art with Héctor García, Unexpected Visuals and the Photographic Collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Origins and Continuities, Joel González Navarro.
