WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

All artist of any nationality are permitted to participate. We will bring special attention to emerging artist.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH “EMERGING ARTIST”?

Emerging means being in a state of emergency, an idea that evokes speed, a signal of help, a necessity. It also evokes the term "emerge", resurface from something, something that is born new, an outbreak that stands out, a principle of something.

“Emerging art” constitutes a part of a huge conglomerate that we define asp´“Contemporary art”. However, we must be clear that one of the ideas of Modernity is the phenomenon of the audience. His credentials make the audience a phenomenon in itself, an important fact for the <>, a need, an obligation, that is what gives character to the existence of the work or creation of a creator that needs to be viewed.

WHAT IS THE CURATORIAL VISION?

Tijuana In Mind, aims to put Tijuana in the minds of creators and receiving audience twice. That is, evoking this complex and fascinating city as a conceptual inspiration for the pieces that are expected to be received.

The artists will have to start from their experiences, knowledge or research to capture plastic and / or visually some aspect that refers to this city. In such a way that the final sample of selected works will offer a wide and diverse spectrum of reflections and explorations that will lead the public to (re) think and ethically problematize the current reality of the city.

- Painting (classical, assembly, textile and installation)
- Watercolor
- Illustration
- Digital Painting/ Illustration
- Photography digital or analog
- Ceramics

WHAT DIMENSIONS SHOULD HAVE MY ARTWORK?

Bidimensional Artwork:
Min. 19x18 in.
Max. 35x52 in.
Framing (Mandatory) 1-2 in.

Tridimensional Artwork:
Max. 15x25x10 in.
Framing 1-2 in.

HOW SHOULD I FRAME MY ARTWORK?

Frame can be in 1 of 2 inches of thick, in any wood and must have a steel tensioning cable in the back.

HOW SHOULD I SHIP MY ARTWORK?

- The shipment must be paid by the artist.
- The artist must contract the parcel company of his choice with payment of delivery and collection service.
- The Artwork must be send with insurance for both sides.
- The Artwork must have a round shipping service.
- The artists must attach the round freight receipt with tracking information and recipient within the package of artwork to be received.
- (*) In the case of ceramics, the artist must have insurance paid for the total value of the Artwork.

HOW SHOULD I PACK MY ARTWORK FOR SHIPPING?

The works that your material is framed or with glass should use protective foam for crystals, cover with a layer of cardboard the corners and fragile parts of the work and seal with plastic insulating paper.

All work must carry signs of fragile outside the packaging.

The certificate of authenticity must be enclosed inside the box, with a recent photograph of the work and autograph signatures of the artist.

The packaging must contain a sheet on the outside with shipping information and reception data.

Attach receipt of round freight with guide number and recipient.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF MY WORK GETS SELECTED?

The selected works will have an exhibition month from June 12 to July 12, 2020. Period in which they will be available to be purchased by collectors and visitors.

The exhibited works that were not sold will be sent back from July 17, 2020 to their countries of origin, prior to the payment of service and parcels made by the artist, which will define the estimated time of return.

HOW MUCH IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?

The registration fee corresponds to 35 American dollars, non-refundable, per application. These will be charged at the exchange rate of the day by the banking institution and the country of application.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE REPRESENTED BY LA CAJA GALLERY?

La Caja Gallery will represent the selected artists and their artworks, allowing the visit of the exhibition through various stadiums of adults, youth adults and children nationals or foreigners. In addition to generating events for sale the Artwork.

La Caja Gallery will contact the selected artists to clarify terms and conditions of the legal representation.
